“Your success is our mission”

In 2012, my daughter and I left our jobs to open Stenzel Sealing Solutions. Our company distributes high-quality fluid sealing products to the power generation industry. We provide a variety of products, including gaskets, seals, packing, rubber expansion joints, duct expansion joints, valves, steam traps, flanges, pipes and fittings. In addition to products, we offer training and engineering support to ensure that our clients’ projects are a success.

Your success is about more than just great products. Our team places a very heavy emphasis on service. We want our customers to know they have a true partner in Stenzel Sealing Solutions. This means that if they have a problem on a plant level, it becomes our problem. We offer 24/7 service.

Owning a business presents many unique challenges, but I’ve found a lot of resources for assistance. SRP supported me in the ASU Small Business Leadership Academy program, which I found to be a wonderful opportunity and a great tool. Our team also learned to seek out assistance and think outside of the box. We were able to form some wonderful working alliances with other companies that we had always considered our competition. We focus on our strengths and keep our vision focused on what we do best.

Looking back on the last three years, I can say that starting my own business has allowed me to concentrate my efforts on an industry that I’m passionate about. It has also provided me with some control over my future. It’s important to remember that small business is what built our country. Anyone who has the moxie to get started and work hard should have the chance to prove themselves.

If you are thinking of starting your own business or you’re already running one, don’t forget to hire people that are great at what you’re not great at. Plus, having a solid cash flow doesn’t hurt either. One last thing: Have some fun!
