Beware of business scams during the holiday weekend

Home / Energy advice / Beware of business scams during the holiday weekend

Don’t fall victim to a small business scam!

We want to alert you to recent reports of scams targeting small businesses. At such times, scammers may try the following in an attempt to retrieve your account or credit card information.

  • Phone calls requesting that you make an immediate payment or face same-day disconnection. Do not pay.
  • Scammers insisting that you purchase a prepaid credit card and call them back to pay. Do not comply.

If your payment is past due, we will call a day ahead to inform you of your service status and that disconnection is pending for the following day. This courtesy call is to provide you with time to validate your statement balance and call back if you have concerns. We will never demand immediate payments or threaten same-day disconnection.

Protecting your personal information is one of our highest priorities here at SRP. Call us anytime, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at (602) 236-8833 if you receive a suspicious call or simply want to receive accurate information about your account.
